What to expect from AVA full-time?
The Atlanta Virtual Academy (AVA) Full time program is a fully accredited online learning environment that is available to middle and high school students of Atlanta Public Schools. Students can choose from among the four core subjects (English, Social Science, Math, Social Science), CTAE (Electives), Health/PE/Personal Fitness, World Language, AP, and Honors courses. Because AVA is a NCAA-approved program, it is ideal for today’s student athlete.
AVA is made up of a team of fully-certified teachers representing each of the core subjects, an Academic Support Specialist, and Counselor all ready to provide a world class education for the 21st century learner. Students enrolled in AVA will engage with a rigorous and relevant curriculum.
AVA courses are accessible 24 hours a day via internet-connected computers and/or mobile devices. It also provides flexibility that is not available in a face-to-face setting.

Taking courses at AVA full-time offers several advantages:
- AVA provides certified and experienced subject-specific instructors that are focused on student success;
- Students in grades 6-12 can work at their own pace as long as they meet minimum pacing requirements;
- Scheduled live instructional support with your online teacher(s) is available;
- Real-time teacher interaction with 1 on 1 teacher sessions are available to students;
- Students can access content 24 hours/7 days a week using an internet connected device;
- Enrollment in AVA can accelerate graduation.
- AVA full-time is Asynchronous learning ( students work at their own pace with a virtual teacher on the screen)

AVA full-time Enrollment Process
- Families MUST view the Welcome to AVA video
- Families MUST attend an informational parent session (see the website for times)
- Families will notify their home school counselor their intent to enroll in AVA full-time
- Families will acknowledge they have viewed the “Welcome to AVA” video and attend a parent information session ( or view the live recording) BEFORE they complete an application.
- Families will complete the student application https://atlantapublicschools.schoolmint.net/
- AVA’s registrar will contact you within 5 business days to confirm your line of enrollment
- Expect to receive a schedule by the AVA counselor within 48 hours after your line of enrollment has been completed.
Fall registration closes on September 8th for full-time
